Deadlines for the 2024 Science Fair

BEFORE you start your project for the 2024 Science Fair you MUST:

  • Check the ethics guidelines [1] and have your teacher confirm that all conditions are satisfied.
    If you are home-schooled you must contact rmmarx@uvic.ca [2]
  • All projects that involve humans, animals or microorganisms require an Ethics review.
    The signed Ethics review must be submitted by email to rmmarx@uvic [2] by Friday, Feb. 16, 2024.
  • If your project involves other people you must follow all COVID-19 protocols or your project will be disqualified.

Deadline: On-line Registration [3]: Thursday, March 7, 2024

This includes: student info, project info – titles, school name, etc.
No new projects will be accepted after the registration deadline.

Deadline: Receipt of Project Submission Package: Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Email your completed Registration Package to rmmarx@uvic.ca [2]
*** Include : Student’s last “name_firstname + School name“ in the subject line of the email

The complete package includes:

  • Project-Board Summary Report + cover page with Project Title, Student(s) name and School name
  • Signed declaration form(s) from the VIRSF Student Registration Page [3]
  • Registration fee of $26 paid via the VIRSF Canada Helps link [4]
    In the “Write a private message…” box include ” name of student(s) and the school name

THESE ARE FIRM DEADLINES – NO EXCEPTIONS
No project will be allowed in the fair unless your registrations, information package and fees are complete by the stated deadlines.
